What's the difference between Hydr8 B5 and Hydr8 B5 Intense? +

Hydr8 B5 is Medik8's original bestselling hyaluronic acid serum – a lightweight, minimal-ingredient formula perfect for maintaining daily hydration in normal or sensitive skin types.

Hydr8 B5 Intense is the supercharged version – fortified with Natural Moisturising Factors (NMFs), superfood antioxidants (saskatoon berry) and a triple-action hydration booster. It's designed for dehydrated skin in need of a more intense hydration boost.

If your skin feels mildly dry or you want a simple hydrating layer, start with Hydr8 B5. If you have chronically dehydrated skin or need more dramatic plumping results, consider Hydr8 B5 Intense.

Can I use this morning and evening? +

Absolutely – in fact, that's the recommended usage. Apply 6 drops after cleansing both morning and evening for optimal hydration. The lightweight formula won't interfere with your other products or feel too heavy for daytime wear.

How long will the 30ml bottle last? +

Using 6 drops twice daily as recommended, expect approximately 6-8 weeks of use. A little goes a long way with this concentrated serum.

Can I use this with vitamin A (retinol/retinal)? +

Yes – and Medik8 actually recommends this combination. After cleansing in the evening, apply Hydr8 B5 first, then follow with your Crystal Retinal or retinol serum. The hydration from Hydr8 B5 helps enhance skin-firming results while keeping skin comfortable.

Why does it feel like water? +

That's exactly what it should feel like! The crystal-clear, liquid texture is designed to absorb instantly without any stickiness or residue. Unlike thicker, gel-like hyaluronic serums, Hydr8 B5's lightweight formula penetrates immediately – leaving skin hydrated but not tacky.

Will this be enough hydration for very dry skin? +

Hydr8 B5 provides excellent daily hydration for normal to mildly dry skin. If you have severely dehydrated skin, you might benefit from either upgrading to Hydr8 B5 Intense or following Hydr8 B5 with a rich moisturiser like Advanced Night Restore (evening) or Total Moisture Daily Facial Cream (morning/evening).
