FAQS
Is SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel good for dehydrated or oily skin? +

Yes — it's ideal for both. It delivers intense hydration through hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 in a weightless, oil-free gel, so it quenches dehydrated skin without feeling heavy and won't clog pores, making it a great choice for oily and blemish-prone skin too.

What does Hydrating B5 Gel do? +

It replenishes moisture and restores radiance for smoother, plumper, more comfortable skin. Hyaluronic acid binds water to the skin while vitamin B5 supports the skin barrier's natural repair, softening the look of fine lines caused by dehydration.

What's the difference between Hydrating B5 Gel and HA Intensifier? +

Both hydrate, but differently. HA Intensifier (Multi-Glycan) is a corrective treatment that boosts your skin's own hyaluronic acid over time. Hydrating B5 Gel provides immediate, lightweight hydration using hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 — a simple daily moisture boost. Many people use HA Intensifier for long-term plumping and B5 Gel for everyday hydration.

How do I use Hydrating B5 Gel? +

Once or twice daily, apply 2-3 drops to a cleansed face, neck and chest and gently press in, avoiding the eye area. In the morning, use it after your vitamin C serum and before moisturiser and SPF.

Do I use Hydrating B5 Gel before or after moisturiser? +

Before your moisturiser. Applying Hydrating B5 Gel first lets the hyaluronic acid draw in and hold the moisture from the cream you layer on top. As a rule, apply products thinnest to thickest.

Can I use it with vitamin C and retinol? +

Yes. In the morning, apply it after a vitamin C serum such as C E Ferulic — it even helps boost vitamin C's absorption. In the evening, apply it after any retinol. It layers well with the rest of your routine.

Is Hydrating B5 Gel non-comedogenic and safe for acne-prone skin? +

Yes. It's oil-free and non-comedogenic, meaning it won't clog pores, so it's well suited to acne-prone and oily skin that still needs hydration.

Can I use it after microneedling or in-clinic treatments? +

Yes — it's tested suitable for use with in-office microneedling and is a lovely way to keep skin hydrated and comfortable afterwards. Always follow your practitioner's individual post-treatment advice.

Can I use Hydrating B5 Gel during pregnancy or breastfeeding? +

Hydrating B5 Gel is a simple, retinoid-free hydrating formula, but as we're not able to give individual medical advice, we always recommend checking with your GP, midwife or a qualified skincare professional before using any new skincare during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
