FAQS
Is iS Clinical Active Peel System a good at-home peel for dull or ageing skin? +

It is the one iS Clinical built for exactly that. The brand lists it for ageing skin, rough texture and dullness, and its eight-week study showed visible improvement in fine lines and wrinkles, sallowness, texture and tone. Because Step 2 neutralises and hydrates, you get the resurfacing without the stripped feel of most peel pads.

What is in the box and how do I use the two steps? +

Each box holds 15 complete sets: 15 Step 1 towelettes and 15 Step 2 towelettes. The order is always the same:

  • Step 1 Peel - after cleansing, smooth over the whole face and neck and leave for three minutes without rinsing
  • Step 2 Hydrate and Neutralise - apply over the same area and leave on; it neutralises Step 1 and carries the Extremozymes and copper tripeptide-1

Use every other day, preferably in the evening, so one box is roughly a month of use.

Is the tingling normal? +

Yes. iS Clinical describes a cool, active tingling sensation during both steps as normal - it shows the botanical acids are activating. It typically subsides within minutes and is neutralised by Step 2. If it is painful or persists, rinse with cool water.

How often should I use Active Peel System? +

Every other day, preferably in the evening, is the brand's recommendation. If your skin is sensitive, iS Clinical suggests starting at one to two times a week and increasing gradually as tolerance builds.

Do I need to rinse it off or moisturise afterwards? +

No rinsing is required for either step. For the most intensive results iS Clinical recommends applying Step 2 and letting it work overnight without other products; if your skin feels tight you can add a simple hydrator such as Hydra-Cool Serum or SHEALD Recovery Balm once Step 2 has absorbed.

Can I use iS Clinical Active Peel System on sensitive skin? +

iS Clinical calls it a gentle but powerful solution for sensitive skin. Patch test first, start at once or twice a week, and keep retinol and other acids off peel evenings.

Can I use it with retinol or Active Serum? +

Keep them on separate evenings. Use the peel every other night and your retinol or Active Serum on the nights in between, and wear a broad-spectrum SPF every morning.

What is the difference between Active Peel System and the Extra Strength Active Peel Brightening System? +

The standard Active Peel System is the everyday-strength version for every-other-day use. The Extra Strength Active Peel Brightening System is the brand's newer, stronger system, billed as 3x the brightening and exfoliating power, used every third night and supplied only through authorised iS Clinical professionals.

Can I use iS Clinical Active Peel System during pregnancy or while breastfeeding? +

iS Clinical UK states that all of its products are non-systemic and can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. We still suggest checking with your midwife or GP before adding anything new to your routine, particularly as this formula contains salicylic acid and other exfoliating acids, which many midwives prefer you to run past them first.
