FAQS
Is IMAGE Skincare AGELESS+ Retinol Overnight Masque 0.5% good for dry skin? +

It is built for it. IMAGE lists it for dry skin with dehydrated fine lines and for anyone worried about dryness as a side effect of traditional retinol. Hyaluronic filling spheres, hyaluronic acid, aloe and shea butter sit alongside the 0.5% retinol complex, and 100% of study participants agreed skin felt firmer, hydrated and lifted.

Do I rinse the Overnight Masque off? +

No. Despite the name it is a leave-on masque-moisturiser: apply 1-2 pumps to cleansed skin at night, leave it to work while you sleep and cleanse as normal in the morning.

Do I need a moisturiser as well? +

No - it replaces your night cream. If your skin is exceptionally dry you can press a few drops of VITAL C Hydrating Facial Oil over the top, but most people will find the masque alone is enough.

How does it compare with Repair Crème 0.3% and Treatment Crème 1.2%? +

All three are night crèmes built on IMAGE's retinoid-and-bakuchiol complex with XOSM Technology. Repair Crème 0.3% is the beginner, brightening-led option with glycolic and kojic acid; Overnight Masque 0.5% is the hydration-led middle strength; Treatment Crème 1.2% is the maximum dose for fully acclimated skin.

Can I use IMAGE Skincare AGELESS+ Retinol Overnight Masque 0.5% every night? +

Yes, once phased in. IMAGE's study used a limited acclimation schedule in week one before nightly application from week two, so start with two or three nights a week and build up as your skin allows.

Can I use it with exfoliating acids or vitamin C? +

It already contains lactic acid, so keep other exfoliating acids and scrubs to the morning or to retinol-free nights. Vitamin C belongs in your morning routine.

What did the clinical study show? +

In IMAGE's eight-week study on 30 participants aged 44 to 60 across Fitzpatrick types I to VI: 100% agreed skin was firmer, hydrated and lifted; 90% agreed dehydrated fine lines were improved; 90% agreed the complexion was smoothed and brightened; 90% reported radiant, rejuvenated-looking skin; and 87% reported skin was plumped with fewer fine lines and wrinkles.

Is the Overnight Masque fragrance free? +

IMAGE states it is formulated without artificial fragrances, synthetic dyes, phthalates or mineral oils. The ingredient list includes vanilla fruit extract, so there may be a faint natural scent.

Can I use IMAGE Skincare AGELESS+ Retinol Overnight Masque 0.5% during pregnancy or while breastfeeding? +

IMAGE Skincare asks customers to speak with their healthcare professional before using any of its products while pregnant, and most clinicians advise avoiding vitamin A, including retinol, while pregnant or breastfeeding. For this time the brand points to its ORMEDIC collection, which it states is formulated without the specific ingredients doctors typically recommend avoiding during pregnancy or breastfeeding; ORMEDIC Balancing Biopeptide Crème is the retinol-free night moisturiser we suggest in its place.
