FAQS
Is IMAGE Skincare the MAX Facial Cleanser good for sensitive skin? +

Yes - it is formulated without acids or sulphates and, in IMAGE's words, without the traditional cleansing agents that can cause skin to feel dry or tight. Naturally soothing oat kernel keeps it comfortable, and it is free of parabens, phthalates, mineral oils, artificial fragrances and synthetic dyes. Patch test first if your skin is very reactive.

Is the MAX Facial Cleanser the same as the old MAX Stem Cell Facial Cleanser? +

IMAGE Skincare describes the MAX Facial Cleanser as the new packaging version of its stem cell cleanser; the name was updated when the whole range became simply 'the MAX'. If you used the MAX Stem Cell Facial Cleanser before, this is the product to look for now.

Does the MAX Facial Cleanser remove make-up? +

Yes. IMAGE describes its creamy formula as gently sweeping away make-up and impurities. For heavy make-up or a day of sunscreen, cleanse twice: the first pass lifts the surface layer and the second cleans the skin properly.

Can I use IMAGE Skincare the MAX Facial Cleanser with retinol or exfoliating acids? +

Yes. It contains neither retinol nor exfoliating acids, so it sits comfortably in any active routine. Many people find a gentle, acid-free cleanser is exactly what skin needs when it is also using vitamin A or exfoliating serums.

Does it foam? +

Only lightly. Because it is sulphate-free it will not lather like a traditional foaming wash; expect a silky, creamy texture that spreads easily and rinses away clean without leaving a film.

What does the MAX Facial Cleanser smell like? +

It contains no artificial fragrance. The light, fresh scent comes from grapefruit peel oil within the formula. If you know your skin reacts to citrus essential oils, patch test before using it on the whole face.

Which IMAGE Skincare products go with the MAX Facial Cleanser? +

It is the first step of the MAX routine: follow with the MAX Serum, then the MAX Eye Crème, and finish with a broad-spectrum SPF by day or the MAX Crème at night. The MAX Masque slots in three to four times a week after cleansing, and the MAX Neck Lift takes care of the neck and décolleté.

Can I use it both morning and evening? +

Yes - IMAGE recommends using it morning and evening. Massage a liberal amount onto wet skin, rinse with lukewarm water and finish with a splash of cool water.

Can I use IMAGE Skincare the MAX Facial Cleanser during pregnancy or while breastfeeding? +

It contains no retinol or other vitamin A derivatives, so it is generally considered suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding. IMAGE Skincare does not make a specific pregnancy claim for this product and recommends checking with your midwife or GP before introducing any new skincare while pregnant or breastfeeding.
