FAQS
Is iS Clinical Eclipse SPF 50+ a good mineral sunscreen for everyday use? +

That is exactly what iS Clinical built it for: daily use and extended outdoor activities. It is 100% physical (titanium dioxide and zinc oxide), ultra-sheer, matte and water-resistant, so it suits normal, dry, oily, combination and blemish-prone skin as an every-morning SPF.

What is the difference between the Translucent and Beige shades? +

The formula and protection are identical. Translucent dries down with no colour at all. Beige uses iS Clinical's PerfecTint technology - a sheer wash of iron-oxide tint that softly evens the look of skin tone, a little like a tinted moisturiser, without covering like foundation.

Does Eclipse SPF 50+ leave a white cast? +

iS Clinical uses transparent titanium dioxide and micronised zinc oxide precisely to avoid it, and the lotion is described as ultra-sheer with a matte finish. If you have a deeper skin tone and are cautious, the Beige shade gives extra insurance against any pale tone.

Can I wear iS Clinical Eclipse SPF 50+ under make-up? +

Yes. The matte, non-greasy finish works as a primer: apply, give it a minute to set, then apply foundation or powder as usual. Many customers wear Beige alone on no-make-up days.

How water-resistant is Eclipse SPF 50+? +

iS Clinical labels it water-resistant for 40 minutes of swimming or sweating. Reapply after that time, immediately after towel drying and at least every 2 hours in the sun.

How much should I apply and how often should I reapply? +

Apply liberally - about a two-finger length for the face and neck - 15 minutes before going outside. Reapply at least every 2 hours, and sooner after swimming, sweating or towelling off.

What is the difference between Eclipse SPF 50+ and Extreme Protect SPF 40? +

Both are all-mineral and water-resistant. Eclipse SPF 50+ is the lighter, more matte, higher-factor option in Translucent or Beige. Extreme Protect SPF 40 adds Extremozyme antioxidant technology and a more moisturising feel, with a third shade, Bronze. Choose Eclipse for oilier skin and high-sun days; Extreme Protect for drier skin that wants its SPF to moisturise.

Is Eclipse SPF 50+ suitable for blemish-prone or sensitive skin? +

iS Clinical lists it for blemish-prone skin and large or congested pores, and both filters are described by the brand as non-irritating and non-allergenic. It is fragrance-free by its ingredient list. As with any new product, patch test first if your skin is reactive.

Can I use iS Clinical Eclipse SPF 50+ during pregnancy or while breastfeeding? +

Eclipse SPF 50+ uses only mineral UV filters (zinc oxide and titanium dioxide), which are generally considered suitable while pregnant or breastfeeding - check with your midwife or GP if you have any concerns. Daily sun protection is encouraged at this time, when skin can be more prone to dark patches.
