Medik8 Balance Moisturiser 50ml

It is the same Balance Moisturiser, but sold on its own. Medik8 has discontinued the two-part pack that came with a separate 10ml Glycolic Acid Activator and replaced it with this standalone 50ml tube. The moisturiser's ingredient list is unchanged; only the activator has been removed. If you want that glycolic step back in your routine, add Medik8 Sleep Glycolic or Medik8 Press & Clear alongside it.

You have two options. Medik8 Sleep Glycolic is a 10% encapsulated glycolic acid overnight peel used 2–3 evenings a week; apply it to cleansed skin, let it absorb, then follow with Balance Moisturiser. Medik8 Press & Clear is a 2% BHA (salicylic acid) tonic that can be used daily after cleansing and before moisturiser, which suits oily and congested skin. Choose one rather than layering both on the same evening.

Yes. It is a 97% oil-free, alcohol-free gel-cream that hydrates without adding shine and dries down to an instant matte finish. Niacinamide helps to balance oil production, so skin looks less shiny through the day without feeling stripped.

Yes, it is designed for exactly that. The prebiotic and postbiotic blend helps support a balanced skin microbiome and limit blemish-causing bacteria, while beta-glucan soothes and comforts. Use it morning and evening after cleansing.

Yes. In the evening, apply Crystal Retinal to cleansed, dry skin, allow it to absorb, then apply Balance Moisturiser over the top. If you are also using Sleep Glycolic, use it on a different night to Crystal Retinal until you know how your skin responds.

This is one of its strengths. The lightweight texture absorbs quickly and leaves a smooth, matte base with no pilling, so sunscreen and foundation sit evenly on top. Allow it to absorb for a minute before applying SPF.

It contains no artificial fragrance and no synthetic colours. It does contain naturally derived scent from orange peel oil and cinnamon bark extract, so it has a light, fresh citrus smell. It is paraben free and alcohol free.

Used morning and evening on the face and neck, a 50ml tube typically lasts around two months. Only a small amount is needed as the gel-cream spreads easily.

The formula contains no retinoids, no salicylic acid and no high-strength acids, and its key actives are niacinamide, beta-glucan and pre/postbiotics, which are generally considered suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
