FAQS
Is Medik8 C-Tetra Cream a good first vitamin C product? +

Yes - Medik8 describes it as the perfect option for those who are entirely new to vitamin C. The 3% stabilised vitamin C is a gentle, low-irritation form, there is no phase-in schedule, and because it is a moisturiser there is nothing extra to layer.

What is the difference between C-Tetra, C-Tetra Luxe and C-Tetra Advanced? +

All three use the same gentle, stabilised vitamin C (tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate); they differ in strength and texture. C-Tetra is the original: 7% in a lightweight oil, for sensitive skin and anyone new to vitamin C. C-Tetra Luxe doubles that to 14% in a rich, nourishing oil with squalane and maracuja oil, for all skin types, first signs of ageing and especially dry skin. C-Tetra Advanced is the newest and strongest of the three at 20%, in a lightweight gel-serum with phyto exosomes, for visible signs of ageing on normal, combination or oily skin. Above them sits Super C Ferulic, 30% ethylated L-ascorbic acid for advanced sun-induced ageing, and the technology also comes as C-Tetra Cream (3%) and Daily Radiance Vitamin C (7% with SPF 30) for anyone who prefers a cream.

Is C-Tetra Cream a serum or a moisturiser? +

A moisturiser. Medik8 says C-Tetra and C-Tetra Luxe are its original vitamin C serums, while C-Tetra Cream brings the same C-Tetra technology into a nourishing, silky cream formula that replaces your morning moisturiser.

What is the difference between C-Tetra Cream and Daily Radiance Vitamin C? +

Both are silky vitamin C day creams built on C-Tetra technology. Daily Radiance Vitamin C adds broad-spectrum SPF 30, so it can be the final step of your morning; C-Tetra Cream has no SPF, so you follow it with a separate sunscreen.

Do I still need sunscreen with C-Tetra Cream? +

Yes, every morning. C-Tetra Cream contains no SPF, and Medik8's directions are to leave it to absorb and then apply a sunscreen such as Advanced Day Ultimate Protect.

Can I use Medik8 C-Tetra Cream with Crystal Retinal or retinol? +

Absolutely. Medik8 recommends it as part of its CSA Philosophy: vitamin C plus sunscreen by day, vitamin A by night. C-Tetra Cream is the morning step, Crystal Retinal the evening one.

Can I use C-Tetra Cream at night as well? +

Medik8 directs it to the morning. In the evening the brand's CSA routine switches to vitamin A and a night moisturiser such as Advanced Night Restore, so there is no need for a second application of vitamin C.

Does C-Tetra Cream contain fragrance? +

Medik8 states it contains no artificial fragrance. The formula does include natural essential oils of grapefruit, lemon, bergamot and geranium, giving a light fresh scent; if your skin reacts to essential oils, patch test first.

Can I use Medik8 C-Tetra Cream during pregnancy or while breastfeeding? +

It contains no vitamin A, which is the ingredient most people are asked to avoid. Medik8 does not publish formal pregnancy or breastfeeding guidance: as a cosmetics company it says it cannot advise on medical conditions and asks customers to discuss the full ingredient list with their midwife or GP before use. Its only general note is that the formula contains no ingredients it would recommend avoiding in pregnancy unless your doctor advises otherwise. Please check with your midwife or GP first.
