FAQS
Is Medik8 Hydr8 B5 the best hyaluronic acid serum for dehydrated skin? +

It is the one Medik8 calls its original, bestselling hyaluronic acid serum, and in the brand's four-week consumer study skin felt instantly quenched and more hydrated within 7 days, with 86% agreeing their skin looked plumper after 4 weeks. For skin that is dehydrated rather than simply dry, Becci tends to recommend it as the everyday option and Hydr8 B5 Intense when more is needed.

What is the difference between Hydr8 B5 and Hydr8 B5 Intense? +

Hydr8 B5 is the original: multi-weight hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 in a seven-ingredient, oil-free formula for daily hydration on normal to sensitive skin. Hydr8 B5 Intense is the supercharged version, fortified with superfood antioxidants and Natural Moisturising Factors, and is Medik8's choice for dehydrated skin that needs a more intense boost. Both are suitable for sensitive skin.

Can I use Medik8 Hydr8 B5 with Crystal Retinal? +

Yes, and Medik8 recommends the pairing. After cleansing in the evening apply Hydr8 B5 first, let it absorb, then apply Crystal Retinal and finish with your moisturiser.

Should I use Hydr8 B5 in the morning or evening? +

Both. Medik8 designed it to be applied after cleansing, morning and evening, as a hydration boost before moisturiser or sunscreen.

Is Hydr8 B5 suitable for oily or blemish-prone skin? +

Yes. It is completely oil-free, contains no fragrance or alcohol, and Medik8 describes it as replenishing the skin without clogging pores, which is why it suits oily and combination skin as well as dry.

Will Hydr8 B5 work under make-up? +

In Medik8's consumer study 98% agreed it layered well under make-up. It absorbs quickly, leaves no greasy or tacky film and sits comfortably under sunscreen and foundation.

Does Hydr8 B5 contain vitamin A or any acids? +

No. The whole formula is seven ingredients: water, panthenol (vitamin B5), sodium hyaluronate, calcium pantothenate, two preservatives and citric acid to balance the pH. There is no retinol, no exfoliating acid and no fragrance.

How long does a bottle last? +

Medik8 counts around 90 uses per 30ml bottle at 6 drops per application, so used morning and evening it lasts roughly six weeks.

Can I use Medik8 Hydr8 B5 during pregnancy or while breastfeeding? +

It contains no vitamin A, which is the ingredient most people are asked to avoid. Medik8 does not publish formal pregnancy or breastfeeding guidance: as a cosmetics company it says it cannot advise on medical conditions and asks customers to discuss the full ingredient list with their midwife or GP before use. Its only general note is that the formula contains no ingredients it would recommend avoiding in pregnancy unless your doctor advises otherwise. Please check with your midwife or GP first.
