FAQS
Is Revision Skincare CMT Post-Procedure Cream good after microneedling and chemical peels? +

That is what it was made for. Revision developed it for use after chemical, mechanical and thermal procedures - peels, microneedling, microdermabrasion and laser, RF or IPL - to calm discomfort and support barrier recovery. Always check post-procedure use with your practitioner.

What does CMT stand for? +

CMT refers to the three types of professional procedure the cream was developed for: chemical (peels), mechanical (microneedling and microdermabrasion) and thermal energy (fractionated CO2, erbium, RF and IPL).

What is a neurocosmetic? +

Revision explains that neurocosmetics are topical products containing ingredients that enhance communication between the skin and the brain. Applied to distressed skin, they can help soothe it and have a direct impact on how comfortable the skin feels.

How is CMT Post-Procedure Cream different from a numbing cream? +

A numbing cream is applied before a procedure to block sensation and is classed as a drug. CMT Post-Procedure Cream is a cosmetic used afterwards to calm and soothe stressed skin while supporting the epidermal barrier. Revision notes that the two were not compared in its clinical studies.

What did the clinical study show? +

In Revision's clinical study 24 hours after thermal procedures, 88% of subjects reported reduced heat sensation and 75% reported less irritation. The cream was also shown to ease discomfort within 20 minutes of application after a professional procedure.

How often should I apply it? +

Revision recommends at least twice daily, reapplying as needed. In clinical studies, relief was demonstrated by applying it up to three times daily over 7 days. Discuss the right routine for your procedure with your practitioner.

Can I use it on my neck, décolletage or hands? +

It was clinically tested on the full face and neck. It has not been tested after procedures on other areas such as the décolletage and hands, so Revision recommends speaking to your practitioner first.

Can I use Revision Skincare CMT Post-Procedure Cream without having a procedure? +

Yes. Although it was clinically tested with professional procedures, Revision says it can be used on its own to comfort skin stressed by vitamin A or external aggressors such as UV and pollution.

Can I use Revision Skincare CMT Post-Procedure Cream during pregnancy or while breastfeeding? +

It contains no vitamin A, and gentle barrier-supporting creams are generally considered suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Revision does not publish specific pregnancy guidance, so please check with your midwife or GP, and with your practitioner before any procedure.
