FAQS
Is Revision Skincare Retinol Complete 1.0 too strong for retinol beginners? +

Usually, yes. Revision positions the 1.0 strength for advanced retinol users and advises consulting a skincare professional before starting it. If you are new to retinol, Retinol Complete 0.5 is the sensible first step.

What is the difference between Retinol Complete 0.5 and 1.0? +

Revision recommends 0.5 for retinol-tolerant skin focused on fine lines, uneven texture and dullness, and 1.0 for advanced retinol users targeting the look of deeper wrinkles, texture irregularities and loss of firmness. Both share the same time-released delivery, bakuchiol, antioxidants and hydrators.

Can I use Revision Skincare Retinol Complete 1.0 with vitamin C? +

Yes. Revision says the best brightening results come from combining it with C+ Correcting Complex 30% or Vitamin C Lotion 15% or 30%: vitamin C in the morning under sunscreen, Retinol Complete at night.

Will Retinol Complete 1.0 make my skin dry or flaky? +

Retinol can cause some dryness and peeling at first. Revision built hydrators into the formula to help: sesame extract supports hydration and texture, ophiopogon japonicus helps reduce water loss and isosorbide dicaprylate gives controlled hydration. Starting two to three nights a week also helps.

How often should I use Retinol Complete 1.0? +

Revision's directions are two to three evenings a week to begin with, increasing as your skin tolerates it, after agreeing the frequency with your skincare professional.

Does it contain antioxidants? +

Yes. Alongside the retinol it contains bakuchiol, a broad-spectrum antioxidant, plus vitamin C (THD ascorbate), vitamin E and coenzyme Q10.

Does Retinol Complete 1.0 contain fragrance? +

Yes - Fragrance (Parfum) appears on the ingredient list, so if your skin reacts to fragrance, patch test carefully before use.

Do I need sunscreen while using it? +

Yes. Revision recommends a broad-spectrum sunscreen such as Intellishade every morning while using Retinol Complete.

Can I use Revision Skincare Retinol Complete 1.0 during pregnancy or while breastfeeding? +

No. Revision Skincare states that it does not recommend using Retinol Complete while pregnant or breastfeeding, as high amounts of vitamin A during pregnancy may be harmful, and most clinicians advise avoiding vitamin A at this time. If you would like a vitamin A-free alternative from the same brand, C+ Correcting Complex 30% (vitamin C) or HA HydraSerum+ (peptide and hyaluronic acid) contain no retinol; please check your choice with your midwife or GP first.
