FAQS
Is ZO Skin Health Hydrating Cleanser good for dry, sensitive skin? +

That is exactly who it is for. ZO formulates it for normal to dry skin, including skin prone to dryness, irritation or sensitivity. A five-humectant blend replenishes moisture as you wash and allantoin soothes, so skin feels comfortable afterwards rather than tight.

Does Hydrating Cleanser foam? +

Yes - it is a rich, cushiony foam, which is unusual for a dry-skin cleanser. Because the base is sulphate free, it lathers without the stripping effect of SLS-based washes.

Is Hydrating Cleanser sulphate free? +

Yes. ZO lists it as sulphate free and free from parabens, SLS, SLES, phthalates and gluten. It cleanses away impurities while minimising dryness and irritation, making it suitable for daily use.

Does Hydrating Cleanser remove make-up? +

Yes, it lifts away everyday make-up, oil and sunscreen. For heavy make-up or long-wear sunscreen, ZO suggests Balancing Cleansing Emulsion as a first cleanse followed by Hydrating Cleanser.

What is the difference between Hydrating Cleanser, Gentle Cleanser and Exfoliating Cleanser? +

They are ZO's three step-one cleansers, chosen by skin type. Hydrating Cleanser is the rich, humectant-led foam for normal to dry skin; Gentle Cleanser suits all skin types; Exfoliating Cleanser is for oily and blemish-prone skin.

Can I use ZO Skin Health Hydrating Cleanser with retinol? +

Yes. A non-stripping cleanser is the ideal partner for a retinol routine, because dry, tight skin tolerates vitamin A less well. Cleanse, pat dry, then apply your retinol.

Is this the same as Offects Hydrating Cleanser? +

Stockists list the current product as formerly Offects Hydrating Cleanser, the name used before ZO unified its ranges in 2017. ZO Skin Health Hydrating Cleanser is the product to look for today.

How much should I use? +

A small amount - about the size of a 10p coin - massaged onto damp face and neck for 30-60 seconds, morning and evening, then rinsed thoroughly. A 200ml bottle lasts several months.

Can I use ZO Skin Health Hydrating Cleanser during pregnancy or while breastfeeding? +

It contains no vitamin A or exfoliating acids. ZO advises checking with your physician before introducing any new product while pregnant or breastfeeding; a cleanser of this kind is generally considered suitable, but check with your midwife or GP first.
